In response to Paddy Procurement, 21 Special Gaon Sabhas have been held in 20 Gaon Panchayats and at Lohit Khabolu Goan Panchayat covering 7 wards recently included in Majuli District.The Gaon Sabha at Lohit Khabolu GP was attended by Shri Manab Deka, Hon'ble MLA Lakhimpur. The Gaon Sabha at Phuloni GP was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Majuli in presence of ADCs, SDAO Agriculture and representative from TMPK, MMK, DAC,Consultant APART, Purchase Officer FCI,Millers, FPCs, ZPC Member, Gaon Panchayat President, Social Workers and Farmers. Resource person from Agriculture and District Administration have attended the Gaon Sabhas in all other GPs and briefed about quality parameters of paddy and process of registering, informed about the procurement agencies in the District, location of PPC and process to be followed by PPC.
